MY STORY

Hello! My name is Vanden Harris, and I'm a part-time professional photographer born and raised in Oxnard, CA. I have two younger sisters, who are fraternal twins. I'm currently a Third-Year at San Francisco State University, studying Visual Communications Design.

I started taking photos in the early 2010s at around 10-12 years old. My dad handed me his Nikon D90 to experiment with at my younger sisters' track meets. After noticing I had a good eye for photography, he insisted I learn the basics, in order to be able to increase my natural talent. 

Over time, I've nurtured my natural talent with practice, reading, classes, and lots of trial and error. I've been able to apply and incorporate these new ideas into my own unique style. I was able to utilize time during the COVID-19 pandemic to hone in on my skills extensively and build my brand, eventually being able to buy a Nikon D750 and maintain some gear of my own. I've been able to take photos of sports, people, cars, and everyday items, using my perspective to portray them in a new light.

Being a "social butterfly", I enjoy interacting with my clients and getting to know them on a personal level, often using conversation and my comedic nature to make photoshoots a fun experience for all parties involved. I plan to use my gift in the arts to bring joy to all that I have the privilege to interact with for as long as I can.
